ABOUT
John Walker Just another man with a camera, always searching for the next photograph. Living in a small coastal town means the sea, rugged coastlines, and ever-changing landscapes naturally become my preferred subjects. With the city often far away, I find inspiration in the quieter places and the beauty of the Australian landscape. In recent years, street photography has become a growing passion. Carrying a smaller camera has changed the way I photograph, allowing me to be more spontaneous and observant. The Ricoh GR III has become a favourite companion, perfectly suited to capturing candid moments and everyday life. I've also embraced a lighter photographic kit, replacing heavy DSLR equipment with the Olympus OM-D E-M1, E-M1 Mark III, and the beautiful PEN-F, paired with Olympus PRO lenses and a selection of LEE filters. This transition has renewed my appreciation for photography, proving that lightweight equipment can deliver exceptional image quality while allowing greater freedom to explore and create. And then there's film photography... I started with only film back in the day as it was the only format available however it still fascinates. The anticipation of waiting to see the results, the unique character of film, and the slower, more deliberate process have added a new dimension to my photographic journey. Photography continues to take me to new places, introduce me to new people, and encourage me to see the world a little differently. I'm always looking forward to the next adventure—and the next shot.
